TNW Foundation Awarded by Government of Sindh

Karachi, 12 March 2020. Government of Sindh recognizes TNW Foundation for its contribution to the non-formal basic education (NFBE) program titled as “ZEST”. Chairman TNW, Mr. Zafar Iqbal received the award from Minister Education Government of Sindh, Mr. Saeed Ghani.

ZEST program always made efforts to give a second chance to those children who missed formal education in their early years. Recognizing the ZEST contribution in Non-formal Education in Sindh, TNW was awarded by the Directorate of Literacy & Non-Formal Education, Government of Sindh during the event organized for the launch of “ADULT LITERACY & CURRICULUM SINDH”. Provincial Education Minister Mr. Saeed Ghani graced the event as chief guest.

On this occasion students of ZEST also presented a role play to express the importance of Non-Formal education.
Under ZEST program, TNW has brought over four thousands out of school children towards books through NonFormal education in Karachi urban slums.

During the ceremony today ZEST students displayed their talent at a local hotel and were appreciated by the audience comprised of policy makers, educationists, academicians, representatives of NGOs and government officials. Representatives of JICA, UNICEF and NCHD were also present in the ceremony to appreciate the achievers in NFE sector.

While speaking, Mr. Zafar Iqbal appreciated the program team and said that effective coordination among stakeholders and support from Directorate of Literacy & Non-Formal Education, Government of Sindh enabled us to manage the ZEST successfully.
