TNW COMMUNITY CENTRE KARACHI INITIATED A CLEANLINESS DRIVE

KARACHI: Volunteers and staff at TNW COMMUNITY CENTRE-TNWCC on 17th February 2019 launched a mass awareness and cleanliness campaign throughout the Bangali Para & Ali Akbar Goth Karachi slums.

People from different walks of life, including fishermen, traders, students, teachers, parents and representatives of the district government participated in the cleanliness campaign.

Banners and posters were displayed on roads and in streets throughout the city inscribed with slogans regarding proper disposal of waste, water conservation.

Besides, pamphlets were distributed among the fishermen, students, traders, rickshaw drivers and passersby.

INGOLAM Programme Director Atiq-ur-Rehman Mirza spoke about the importance of cleanliness, sanitation, hygiene and water conservation.

However, he said: Glad to see that all staff of TNW Karachi and local residents of Bengali Para & Ali Akbar Goth had started disposing of garbage dumps which had long been littering the roads and streets.

He said civic workers had been tasked with disposing of garbage and other waste materials from the residential areas in Bengali Para & Ali Akbar Goth. He said a garbage-cart were also pressed into action.
