President of JICA Appreciated ZEST Project

February 19, 2020 Karachi: Dr. Shinichi Kitaoka, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency – JICA visited our Non Formal Education School in Karachi established under ZEST Schools Project. During his visit, Mr. President observed the class room and had interaction with the students and teacher to know about the learning process and outcomes of project being implemented to teach out of school children living in slums.

He appreciated teachers, students, parents and community activists on their exceptional role in bringing out of school children in ZEST schools to complete their primary education in three years. He said that students at ZEST schools are enjoying the learning and it is the beauty of Non Formal system.

Children asked many interesting questions to the president and he was excited to answer them. He advised them to continue education because it is the only path for spending successful life. Children presented flowers and decoration pieces made by their own hands to the members of delegation.

Director Literacy and Non formal Education Department Government of Sind also joined to acknowledge the work done by The NGO World. He said that ZEST project has played a commendable role to educate the out of school children in Karachi slums.

Chairman The NGO World, delivered the note of thanks for technical support by JICA and continued guidance & patronage from Directorate of Literacy and Non formal Education Government of Sind. He also presented organization’s souvenir to Mr. President.

Dr. Shinichi Kitaoka wrote his encouraging remarks in the ZEST visitor’s book.
