Mentoring the ZEST Students

 

Mentoring is important component of a ZEST program that involves other elements, such as tutoring or life skills training and coaching. Mentoring, at its core, guarantees ZEST students that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter.
ZEST mentoring relationships have powerful positive effects on students in a variety of personal and academic situations. It connects young students to personal growth and development.
Fredrick Douglass says “It’s easier to build strong children than to repair broken men” –
ZEST mentors believes that our students who belong to oppressed families are in urgent need of mentoring sessions. Based on this understanding ZEST project team is conducting sessions as regular feature of project with a purpose to empower these young students in slums of karachi.
It is important to mention that under ZEST Schools Project ,TNW is making efforts to teach and mentor more than 3500 students in 100 non formal schools. The project is funded by Turkiye Diyanet Vakfi.
