High level delegation from Education sector, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The high level delegation of Education Sector KP visited Sindh Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education department. The initiative was taken by UNICEF Peshawar office to get exposure of NFE sector experience from Sindh. KP government is planning to execute NFE. The KP delegation consist of the following members;

Mr. Irshad Khan, Secretary Elementary & Secondary School Education Department KP

Mr. Ghulm Saeed, Director Education Sector Reforms Unit KP.

Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim, Director E&SE department Government of KP.

Mr. Imran Kazim, Representative of Planning Wing.

Ms. Musarrat Khatak, Consultant ECE Policy KP.

Ms. Gulnaz Jabeen, Education Officer, UNICEF Peshawar

On their visit to Karachi, they visited The NGO World’s established NFE centers ZEST at Bilal colony, Korangi. During their visit, They met the Chairman TNW, Mr. Zafar Iqbal, Project Manager, Mr. Shakeel Ahmed. During their visit, they were assisted by Mr. Alam Thaheem, Director Literacy and NFBE Sindh, Ms. Chiho Ohashi, Chief Advisor JICA, Mr. Abid Gill, Dy. Chief JICA and Mr. Mehboob, Provincial coordinator JICA Sindh.

During the visit, guests asked questions from students of ZEST schools to assess them as per their learning abilities in context of NFE. They have also interviewed teachers about their timing, curriculum, teacher’s Training. The most important thing, which they realized during their visit was community engagement. They were told by Mr. Zafar Iqbal that TNW doesn’t pay any rent and utilities for venue. That is because of strong community mobilization by TNW team.

At the end, Chairman TNW, Mr. Zafar Iqbal presented souvenirs to distinguished guests.  Mr. Ghulam Saeed paid his gratitude to TNW for doing wonderful job in NFE. They expressed their learning experience during this exposure visit and interaction with students and teachers.
