First Aid Training at CUST organized by The NGO World and PRCS

Since The NGO World and  Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST) have become collaborative partners,  The NGO World has conducted sessions for 03 batches of volunteers under its Volunteer In Service(VIS) 2018 program for CUST students. To continue this collaborative partnership and strengthen the capacity of students in civic leadership and responsibilities, The NGO World organized a 02 Days’  “First Aid Training”  on 19-20 October 2018 for 45 students and faculty members at CUST with the collaboration of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The NGO World believes in enhancing the skills and capabilities of the community, especially in equipping youth with different life skills. First Aid Training is one of the basic training of daily life. The NGO World realizes the importance of this training. Youth & Volunteer department of PRCS Islamabad office provided 02 trainers for First Aid Training.

Mr. Mehmood, First Aid Trainer, District Islamabad led the training with the assistance of Ms. Zaira. The training consists of the following topics:

  • Introduction to RCRC movement
  • Introduction to First Aid
  • An objective of First Aid
  • First Aid kit
  • DRABC and recovery position
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Nosebleed
  • Shock and fainting
  • Poisoning
  • Choking
  • Bone, joint and muscle injuries
  • Heat and cold exposure
  • Burn /Electrical injuries
  • Short distance transportation

At the end of training, Mr. Sajjad Nayyer (Manager Resource Mobilization, The NGO World), thanked both trainers for their services. He also thanked PRCS for the collaboration and timely initiative for this training.

Dr. Shoukat, Director VIS CUST thanked The NGO World and PRCS for conducting and organizing such an important training for their students. He also requested to conduct more sessions in near future, so that maximum students can get this important and basic life-saving training. Mr. Shoukat presented shields to The NGO World and PRCS staff for recognition.
