Eid al-Adha 2017: TNW Foundation is at the forefront of distributing Qurbani meat to Pakistan’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.

TNW Foundation is managing its Qurbani Program since 2010 and benefiting thousands of deserving families every year.
Udhiyah/Qurbani is a religious practice that we perform on Eid Al-Adha. It is an essential religious rite in memory of the sacrifice performed by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). It involves the slaughtering of an animal (a sheep, a goat, or a cow) and offering it as a sacrifice during the tenth or the two days that follow of Dhul-Hijjah. Our beloved prophet Muhammed (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked “What is Qurbani?”, He answered: “It is the sunnah of your father Ibrahim (AS), for every hair of the Qurban you will receive a reward from Allah and for every hair in the wool you will receive a reward”. (Ibn Maja and Tirmidhi).
Qurbani in Islamic terms means the slaughtering of an animal with the intention of getting close to Allah (SWT) by giving some or all of the meat to the poor, the needy, the destitute and also the prisoners.
TNW Foundation is also doing charity to the needy families by presenting gifts of the Qurbani meat to them. TNW Qurbani Programme delivers smiles and cheers amongst the poor. TNW Qurbani programme has always been a most important part of the relief work at TNW Foundation. With preparation starting months in advance of Eid-ul-Adha, TNW Foundation purchase healthy and well fed animals and then identifies the most deserving families (widows, orphans, poor and disaster victims).
This year again, with generous support of Turkish donors, 850 cows/bulls were slaughtered and meat was distributed among more than 25000 deserving families. Alhamduloillah TNW Foundation is managing its qurbani Program since 2010 and benefits thousands of deserving families every year.
