International Volunteer Day 2017

International Volunteer Day (IVD) was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985 to acknowledge the potential that volunteers promise towards betterment of social conditions, promotion of economic development, and empowering people to take charge. The theme for IVD 2017, as conceived by the United Nations is “Volunteers Act First. Here. Everywhere.”.
TNW has organized an event in its Islamabad office to appreciate and encourage the hard work of volunteers. 30 participants were in the event.
Aims and Objectives of conducting the event.
To highlight and showcase volunteer efforts in different Campaigns and Initiatives.
To mobilize more volunteers for a broad range of activities and organizations, specifically for the Social and global issues.
To connect the concept of Volunteerism with its programs.
To promote Volunteerism as a fun, interesting, engaging and youthful activity amongst the citizenry and media
The event owes its success to days of hard work put in by volunteers. TNW have a team of over 15 volunteers from community of its project area, who worked closely with the TNW team in smoothly implementation of its program activities.

Sajjad Nayyer conducted session on “Volunteerism in Islam
At the end, Volunteers were awarded certificates of Appreciation and Thanks.
